around the world with fPOE ... this week it's Edinburgh, Indiana, USA

So last week we headed up to West Warwick, Rhode Island & saw so much beauty in the surroundings of Mary Vican. This week I'm off to Edinburgh, Indiana to check out the world of Mandy Bryant & wow it could it be any more different!

Mandy's photography seems to focus on her immediate world, the things she has in her home, everything is so very personal. Mandy is a huge fan of vintage & bold colours, you can see it in both the objects within her pictures & the style themselves. There's so much pretty going on leaving you unsure of where to look next, & so many tiny details put together in an extraordinary way.

& even when she moves outside of the house the basic concepts remain the same. She still picks up on those tiny details, focusing in such a way that your eye is drawn into the picture completely, you are left unable to look away from her focus.

So simple ... & so so stunning ...

all things polaroid ... i simple love her "collection" inspired prints.

As usual all the prints you see here are available in Mandy's shop, & you can also check out more of her work over on flickr & her blog

market day ...

There's something incredible special for me about market day in France, i'm not saying there aren't markets around the world that have the same feeling i just have yet to experience them. Market day in a French town is about more than just the food, it's the experience. The narrow streets packed with stalls & people, voices loud telling the world what they have on offer (when this is done in French it sounds so much better) & of course the opportunity to try everything first. Sometimes i think you could have your lunch right there at the market without having to buy a thing. They sell more than just food but it's the food that i love. I love the presentation, i love the colours, i love the smells, i love the total lack of anything resembling mass produced & with the sun shining down on you it's a little slice of French heaven.

elle moss

Elle Moss is one of those photographers who as well as being excessively talented is a wonderful fabulous individual. She's one of my "go to people" when it comes to picture taking, a huge presence in fPOE & an Etsy Featured Seller this week.

I think i could sit & look at her pictures for hours, especially her self portraits. I've never been able to get the hang on them, i try but envisaging the final outcome is foreign to me but Elle has it down pat. They are stunning, personal interpretations on life & it's no wonder she's been published, had over 500 sales (yes 500) & is for me the kind of person i aspire to be with my photography. Whilst my style is totally different i feel she has set the standard the rest of us need to live up to.

So take a moment to explore her shop, & take a look into her beautiful world. Now if i can just get her to write me an instruction manuel on how to get there ... !!

wonderful work by fabulous photographers

One of the big appeals to me about Etsy is that i get to talk with some incredible talented photographers from around the world. We share insights, critiques & discover new techniques that allow us to explore our own photographer. Here i want to introduce you to some of my favourites who have become friends as well as colleagues in a way. They're the people i turn to when i need help, to talk & information about anything & everything! I hope you enjoy their work as much as i do.
