nick & nikki ...

Meet Nick & Nikki ... they were the cutest couple, i swear they laughed the entire session! Prior to arriving in Germany 2 weeks back to visit Nikki's sister who's stationed here Nick had been seeing the sights of the sandbox where he has been working as a contractor. They saw each other at the airport for the first time in 7 months. & Nick had surprised Nikki with the shoot! They were gorgeous & so much fun.

me blogging about you blogging about me

So i finally managed to enter the "photo of the week" "competition" a fellow POE member, Jessica Rogers has on her blog, which in itself was a miracle (possible i was trying to enter for the previous week & missed the deadline). Anyways i was delighted when my image was included with such other fantastic images on her blog.

The photo was one of those i shot as part of the shoot with Monique & James, in Landstuhl & is my favourite of the two. Taken in a setting that suits their personalities, urban, contemporary & fun it shows James looking at the camera smiling whilst Monqiue has her head thrown back laughing. I love how it is them, as individuals & them as a couple. Plus the angle is interesting.

Karen & Dan

Portrait photography is not something i have a whole lot of experience in, & i'm not going to lie when i say the whole canned studio images you see aren't something i'm a big fan of but some people have been asking me if i would doing some pictures for them so figured i could give it a go, what am i going to loose right?

So wednesday afternoon i went out with the Hockenberry's, 2 of my closest friends (who will be leaving us soon for the beaches of Florida ... jealous ... noooooooo), & the dogs to have a go at taking their photos. It was an interesting experience, hard work, awkward at times but i got some good shots & it's only the beginning so i have somewhere to go from here, & next time i should have a better idea of what's going on.
