capturing animals in 2010 ...

so here is the first of my round up posts for my personal photography of 2010 ... there has been so much going on this past year & honestly i have watched my photography grow in more ways that i could have ever imaged. So i'm going to share with you guys some of my favourites ... & from this first post i know you will see a theme for the things i love the most! 

because they're mine ... & because i can!

So i'm taking a break from photos from Provence (only a short one) to bring you some pictures of my kitties. There is no specific reason for this (although our theme for You See I See this week was pets so it gave me an excuse to photograph them, not that i honestly need one but anyways) just that there haven't been nearly enough pictures of them recently & well because they're mine & because i can! So quick introductions ... cujo is the tabby (she's the silly younger fur ball ooooh pretty shiny over there kittie) & damn-it (yes that's really her name & no the hubby does not get to name the kids) is the black kittie (she's shy, way more athletic & all kinds of chatty with me & the hubby).

& now i get another chance to blog about my photo being included in someone elses blog, that of Cat Ludwig ... she took 2 of my favourite things as well, photography & animals & included photos taken by various members of the POE (Photographers of Etsy) team to include in her blog. She chose this photo of my munchkin head kittie as one of her images. Having another artist choose one of my images is something that never stops blowing my mind or making me feel special. So i thought I'd share with you a couple of my favorite things!!

Firstly my cats, of which i had two but the second (damn-it) wasn't feeling particularly photogenic, as opposed to Cujo who loves anything shiny thus way easy to get her attention. Anyway these (along with my friends) are my sanity, keeping me company when the husband is at work, tdy or deployed, & scarily i can watch them play for hours on end. They're my family!!

& my cameras which are slowly starting to take over the house, i told my husband i wouldn't stop collecting until i had as many cameras as he has beer glasses. I love everything about them, from the small plastic ones, to the novelty & of course there's the classic box Bownie.  My plan is to start taking photos with some of them, experimenting & seeing what the results will be. It's amazing to look at where technology has come from the most basic to the digital ones of today.
